What Is Team Coaching?
Team coaching develops a team's collective capability to work together more effectively, achieve shared goals, and navigate complex challenges. Unlike coaching individuals separately, team coaching addresses the team as a system—focusing on how members collaborate, communicate, make decisions, and support one another.
aimio delivers team coaching for intact teams at every level, from functional teams and project groups to senior leadership teams. Our approach combines experienced team coaches with technology-enabled support, ensuring teams receive the expert facilitation they need whilst maintaining progress visibility and accountability between sessions.

How It Works
Step 1: Discovery & Contracting
We work with the team leader and sponsor to understand the team's context, challenges, and aspirations. This includes clarifying what success looks like, agreeing how we'll work together, and identifying any individual dynamics requiring attention.
Step 2: Team Assessment
Through interviews, surveys, or diagnostic tools, we gather perspectives on how the team currently functions. This provides baseline understanding and surfaces themes the team may not have articulated.
Step 3: Coach Matching
We match your team with a coach from our panel who has relevant experience working with teams in similar contexts. Because our panel coaches work repeatedly with your organisation, they understand your culture and can draw on broader organisational insight.
Step 4: Facilitated Team Sessions
Regular sessions where the coach works with the team on live challenges and dynamics. Rather than theoretical exercises, sessions focus on how the team actually works together, with real-time observation and feedback.
Step 5: Progress & Integration
Platform-enabled progress tracking between sessions, with clear actions and accountability. The coach helps the team embed new ways of working and build capability to sustain improvements independently.
Delivery Approaches
Intensive Format (3-4 months)
A focused engagement with 3-4 facilitated sessions addressing specific team challenges or transitions. Ideal for newly formed teams, teams navigating significant change, or addressing particular effectiveness issues.
Sustained Development (6-12 months)
Quarterly or monthly sessions supporting ongoing team development, with the coach observing real working sessions and providing continuous feedback. Enables deeper trust-building and sustained behaviour change.
Team Launch
Intensive support for newly formed or restructured teams, focusing on establishing ways of working, building relationships, and creating psychological safety from the outset.
Blended Approach
Combining team coaching with individual coaching for team members, addressing both collective dynamics and personal leadership development.
The aimio Difference
Experienced Team Coaches
Former executives and senior leaders who have led teams themselves, understanding the realities of team dynamics in complex organisations. Our exceptional coach compensation attracts practitioners who combine deep expertise with practical credibility.
Co-Created Approach
We design team interventions around your specific context, culture, and challenges rather than applying generic models. The team's live work becomes the development opportunity.
Organisational Insight
Panel coaches who work across your organisation bring valuable perspective on cultural patterns and leadership themes, helping teams understand how they fit within the broader organisational context.
Practical Focus
Sessions work with real challenges and live dynamics. Coaches observe how the team actually operates and provide immediate, actionable feedback rather than abstract recommendations.
Technology-Enabled Continuity
Platform support maintains momentum between sessions through action tracking, progress visibility, and resource access—ensuring development doesn't stall between touchpoints.
Typical Outcomes
Teams develop greater trust, psychological safety, and openness to challenge. Decision-making becomes faster and more effective. Conflicts are surfaced and addressed constructively. Team members understand and leverage each other's strengths.
Leaders gain objective insight into team dynamics and practical tools for ongoing team development. Sponsors see improved team performance, stronger collaboration, and measurable progress against development goals.
